After initial consultation with the advocate discussing concerns or issues for the upcoming ARD/IEP or Section 504 meeting, the advocate will conduct a thorough review of educational records. Records review includes current evaluation, 504/ARD/IEP documents, as well as progress reports.

Advocate will supply Parent with a prepared list of recommendations, suggestions, and courses of action for the Parent to take to the upcoming ARD/IEP or Section 504 meeting. Parent(s) will also have the opportunity to discuss any additional concerns or issues.

Tier 2 – Moderate Support

Advocate will provide coaching and guidance on how to navigate the meeting making sure that your voice and concerns are heard so that you are fully included as an active participant in the decision making process regarding your child’s education.

Advocate will provide coaching on how to navigate meeting(s), the process for requesting documentation/data, and how to use your child’s present levels of performance to drive goals and services. Also learn how to prepare a Parent Vision Statement to keep you focused so you can successfully advocate for your child during the meeting.

Advocate will hold an In person or virtual meeting between Parent and Advocate covering big ideas to help you effectively prepare for your child’s ARD/504 meeting. Advocate will review and discuss a prepared list of recommendations, suggestions, and action plan for the Parent to take to the upcoming ARD/IEP or Section 504 meeting. Parents will also have the opportunity to discuss any additional concerns or issues. covers some big ideas that will help you be ready for your child’s ARD meeting
Advocate will provide additional coaching on how to interpret your child’s IEP including components of a high-quality Present Levels, components of measurable goals & objectives, appropriate accommodations and modifications (the difference between the two), how to navigate through unexpected challenges, and your rights to agree or disagree to services proposed.

Tier 3 – Full Support

Advocate will conduct a full indepth review of ARD paperwork and make revision proposals for all programing components of the ARD that are fully in alignment with present levels of academic performance to develop person centered strength-based IEP goals.

Present Levels of Performance are the baseline for creating a high-quality IEP. Your advocate will use parent vision statements in conjunction with the current PLAAFP to create a fully revised high-quality IEP IEP/504 model. Advocates IEP/504 Model includes a fully developed Present Levels of Academic Performance, measurable annual goals & objectives, specially designed instruction, appropriate instructional/related services, and academic accommodations needed to access curriculum. (Additional components such as AT, ESY, Transitional Services, etc. may be included based on need.)

Advocate provides coaching on the importance of filing and organizing your child’s educational records. Advocate will additionally create an IEP Parent Binder that includes all educational documents on file, a IEP Binder checklist, parents guide to the ARD/504 process, list of basic educational terms/acronyms, Advocate prepared action plan, and all documents/data prepared by the advocate.
